Siam Scuba Dive Center
Koh Tao, Ban Ko Tao, Chumphon, Thailand, 84280
Arrived on Koh Tao about a year ago, I was far from diving or any other in water activities, but after I got too bored of my everyday office routine I decided to give it a try, and here I am now in the middle of my dive master program and absolutely love it. Working at Siam Scuba Diving and being a part of the incredible team opened for me doors to a whole brand new and amazing underwater world. Being around people who has the same passion to the water, aquatic life and diving, helping them to choose activity and see how happy they are after their first dive in their life or a fun dive in a new environment makes me enjoy this moment too.and so ready to show you my under water world .
"How did you get into Scuba Diving?" I started my first diving experience, when I was a freshman in college. I still remember the breathed underwater for the very first time. I have been an Instructor since 2012. Ever since then I've been teaching in Koh Tao for 3 years and then I've decided to expand my experience and moved to South Korea. I have met many awesome people through the Scuba dive and had great experience as a diver. Once in your lifetime, I truly believe, you should learn to dive. It's Interesting challenge. Explore parts of the world that many don't get see. Your attention is focused on breathing and what you see though your mask. There are no phone calls to answer or emails to respond to underwater. Feel the weightlessness when you diving underwater.
After a lifetime of travelling with my family and a 13 year long IT career I was more than ready for a challenge, and diving has certainly provided that for me. I’m a Iranian born, English raised Welshman. A mongrel. I have been a Dive master since 2012, and an instructor since September 2015, I never get tired of seeing people go from nervous heavy breathing first time divers to calm laughing open water divers, the transformation is amazing, and often surprises the students. It is a rewarding job, hard work, a great way to lose weight and one of the best decisions I have ever made. Siam has been good to me, I have worked hard and had great support from the shop, it really has made my baby steps into the world of professional diving a load easier than my peers.
Since backpacking through Thailand when I was 18 years old, I’ve always wanted to live in this beautiful country. After graduating university in the UK, I took the leap and moved to Thailand with the intention of teaching English to kindergarten students. I was only supposed to stay in Koh Tao for 2 weeks while I looked for teaching work, but many weeks later and I am still here! It was just too hard to leave this island; I decided that Koh Tao was the place for me, and joined the team here at Siam. Although I am new to diving I have learnt a lot by being around our amazing instructors and dive master trainees, and can’t wait to start getting some certifications myself!
