Travelling to and from Koh Tao

Reaching the island is easy. Ferry companies provide sea passage from both Suratthani and Chumphon on the mainland, and also from Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. Joint tickets are available from most tourist offices, combining bus or train travel from most mainland towns and cities directly to Koh Tao. Flights are also available from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Singapore direct into Koh Samui, from where it is a short ferry ride to reach our beautiful island. If you are making a booking to dive with us, make sure you let us know your arrival details, and we will send our taxi to collect you from the pier and bring you to the dive centre free of charge. Onward travel can be arranged easily from our in house booking office in, which can organise transfers to all further travel destinations in Thailand and beyond by bus, rail and air.

Koh Tao truly offers something for everyone in this respect. From local Thai eateries to beachfront bbq’s and fine dining, it would be easy to eat in a different venue every night of your stay and not be disappointed once. Why not ask our staff for their recommendations? It’s always good to get a locals perspective. Why not try the Oasis Beach Diner – it’s great food and chilled music makes for a relaxed and comfortable eating experience.

All newly qualified Open Water and Advanced Open water divers receive a 15% discount at the restaurant on your first visit.

From lazy bars complete with bean bags for the ultimate sunset chill out, to live music venues and beach parties for true nightlife lovers, you can always find a place to suit your mood. Our dive team will be happy to recommend their favourite hangouts, and direct you to where you can have some fun and meet fellow travellers. Do make sure you check out Lotus bar, where sunset happy hours in the early evening are followed by impressive fire shows, before giving way to the island’s most famous beach party later in the night.
All Siam divers automatically qualify for discounts, and there’s a 10% discount on food up for grabs when you sign up for Open Water or Advanced courses with us.
